This is my first question, and I promised I searched the archives first but I don't see it there. I'm trying to link a table in Access 2010 to an HTML table on the web. I found what looks like a pretty decent explanation at http://www.addictivetips.com/microso...n-access-2010; it says I should start with External Data, More[k], HTML Document, then hit Browse and fill in the URL. I then select the radio button "Link to the data source by creating a linked table." and hit OK.
But at this point Access tells me "Only XML files can be imported from an Internet address (http://, ftp://). Enter a path that points to a location on your computer or on the network." Yet I keep seeing claims that Access can do this. And, after all, Excel can do it, so surely Access can too; I'm just not doing it right.
I can write a VBA or VBS program to fetch the HTML code off the web, parse it into raw data and store it in an Access table of my own. I just thought it would be worthwhile to learn how to do it Access' way. Can someone tell me what I'm missing?
