I used to be what I would consider a 'power user' in MS Access (97 & 2000) until I changed employment in about eight years ago. I've had little opportunity to use it since.
By power user, I mean that someone could give me a list of requirements, and I could turn it into a working application quickly, incorporate VBA & SQL heavily, and polish it into a nice user friendly tool. I used front and back end databases to allow easy version changes, calendars, backup/restore functions, etc. I was to 'go to' person for questions on how to get something done in Access. Since then, I have learned what people say about becoming 'rusty'.
I would like to get back up to speed in one of the latest versions of MS Access, and wonder what would be considered the best avenue for someone like me to take. My goal is to become marketable again using Access. I was thinking of getting one of the 'big books' and going through from front to back (although I get bored easily), or checking out some tutorials.
I currently am using version 2010. Any suggestions about what is considered the best books out there, or any highly regarded tutorials that could I could ramp up with?
Thanks,
Randy
