    Set Time Format

    Hello all,

I'm attempting to create my very first Access Data Base. I'm brand new and know very little about Access. I can't figure out how to set a field name I have to be time only. I selected the Date/Time format but when I go to enter data in the field, a small calendar shows up. Shouldn't there be a clock or something?

Anyways any help is much appreciated.

    Thank you,

    -justair

When you have your table in design view select the row that holds the date / time format.
Now on the bottom part of the screen you can select "notation"
There you can select wich format the date and or time can be.

And i dont think you will get a clock. Have seen that yet. But maybe im wrong. Just try it and youll see

    JeroenMioch,

Thank you for your reply but I do not see "notation" anywhere. It's in the field properties correct? On the General tab, for example: Format, Input Mask, Caption...?

    Hi justair07,

I have a Dutch version Access so im not quit sure. It might be called format indeed.
Anyway i was referring to the table, not the form.
You can set the format at the data level so if you would enter your data directly to the table it would only accept time, not tekst or dates and such.
If you do that, the form would only accept time as a consequence.

Set your database in design mode, then go to the table that is related to your form. Then select the control that needs to hold the time. Then on the bottom half of the screen you can alter some propperties, amongst wich the format.
