    Linked tables question

I have an Access 97 (upgrading to 2010) db and most of the tables are linked. My job only has the 1 copy of the front end and they are linked to a server. What I need to do (since there is only 1 copy and its production) is to put everything on my local so I don't mess with production data.

I went into the tools/addins/link table manager and selected all the tables and wanted to copy (not move) to a local folder but it keeps asking me which db to open.

I must be doing something wrong. Please help : )

    Thanks in advance
    Mark

On what menu is tools/addins/link - Access 97?

Why would you use link table manager if what you want is copy?

You want a copy of the backend on your local drive. What is the backend - Access, SQL, Oracle?

If the backend on server is Access then just copy the BE and FE files to your local drive. Then use link table manager to reset the table links in the local copy of frontend.
