    Question "The expression '|' you entered is invalid"

    Hi, I'm a novice and this is my first post.

    I have a single table, single form, single report database in Access 2010.

    I need to filter the table OR the report to return results "on or after" the date selected from the column, "Date Created".

    "Date Created" is stored as a Date/Time field in the table.

    I always get the error that is the subject of this msg. I've tried editing SQL examples, and the Query Builder with the same results.

    What might be the problem?

    Thanks,
    Charles

    Show the query SQL statement so we can analyse what you attempted. Probably should be like:

    SELECT * FROM tablename WHERE [Date Created] >= [enter some date value here];

    Thanks very much June7. The exact phrase you gave me was perfect. I linked it to my report, and now all I have to do is start my report, and it prompts me for a date value, and all is well in Tennessee. ;-)

    I normally don't use input prompts. Can't validate the entry. Even if entry is bad the report will still run, resulting in frustration for user.
