    Reports not sorting properly

I have queries built that sort items in a specific way, but when I generate a report so I can print the data, all my sorting is gone and the items appear in no particular order. Does anyone have any idea why? Thanks in advance.

    P.s.

The reports worked when I first started building the database but now they are a mess.

The sorting has to be set in Sorting and Grouping for the report.

I have the query sorted by items that do not appear in the query table itself, and I am unable to sort by those items in the report's advanced sort function. My reports used to be sorted just as they are on the queries, but for some reason they no longer are.

I don't understand how that's possible; maybe posting the db here or at least a picture will help? If it's a field in the query, you can sort on it. In any case, reports will not necessarily follow the sorting in the query; it has to be set up in Sorting and Grouping.

And here is the QBE (I think that's what it's called anyway)

I don't see anything that wouldn't go in Sorting and Grouping. You'd list those fields in the same order. You've seen the "Group & Sort" icon on the ribbon?

I have, but it doesn't give me the option to select "Paygrade", "Section Leader", or "Assistant Section Leader" because (I think) they are not fields on the query, but rather they are fields from the original table [Duty Section].

Is there a reason you can't include them in the query result set? They don't have to be visible on the report.
