Help with a table containing over 10,000 records?

This table has over 10,000 records. I just added a blank field, geological age (Holocene, Pleistocene etc). Is there a way to reduce the amount of records in the table to include just the unique values for the columns Quadrangle, and geological unit? That way I would only have to input, for example, Holocene in the Age field whenever I see the unique value Qal?

I'll try to be more clear, first time using acess 2007 btw. There are a total of 12,658 records. The fields I am concerned about are Label, Quadrangle, and Age. Each quadrangle has multiple labels, and the labels need to be assigned an Age. Instead of doing that 12,658 times there must be a simpler way to do it. Also how do I do an update query? Thanks.

I agree with Alan, but you have given us so little info about your application.
Can you send us a jpg of your tables and relationships? Or any other info that would help us understand your structure.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
