How to list sports scores in a database

    Hello All,

I am newer to Access and learning its power. I am creating a sports database for my brother's over 18 basketball league. I need to record the following:

Date Away Rank Away Team Away Score Home Rank Home Team Home Score Quality points Location

    i.e. 12/10/12 #8 Team A 59 #1 Team B 67 3 Almont Gym

Eventually i need to record about 68 teams worth of scores. I would like to count records for both teams (i.e. Team A Total W-L) and other stats.

My question is how should i record the scores: One entry for one game or two entries for one game?

I.e. If i record one record for one game will i be able to count both teams?

Techniques available to deal with either structure. Might need multiple queries to get to the desired output. The one record approach will probably need UNION then CROSSTAB. The two record approach could go straight to CROSSTAB.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
