Looking for something besides switchboard or navigation form

I am used to using buttons or the switchboard for access operations which seemed clunky. Now they have a navigation form for reports. I am looking for something different that controls everything. I have seen an example for one at TheUAIC.com that seems fairly simple and has some nice features I like:
It has everything for navigation controlled by one form.
It can be used to open/execute everything like – Reports, Forms, Queries, Macros, Code etc.
Once a selection has been made it has an area that explains in greater detail of what the Report, Form, Query, Macro, Code etc. is about.
Documentation can be easily accessed for the selection.
Due dates can be also viewed and edited quickly for the selection.

My question is has anybody used this before or know or other navigation systems for Access that may similar or better that they have used?

I have posted to other boards and received very few responses. There was only one response that was any help. Here is the link www.mrexcel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=248191. But it would require me to program it.

    Thanks for any assistance.
    James

I don't usually like to refer posters to another forum but we don't have such a topic so maybe something in here will strike your fancy: http://www.utteraccess.com/forum/Int...esign-f40.html

It sounds like you and RG have this well in hand, but I wanted to input my $0.03 (50% more than the average Joe!) anyway...

I've been working on and am almost done with a Single-Form Switchboard that supports grouping and nth level nesting groups/subgroups as well as a personalized "Quick Picks" Combo Box that automatically fills up with the most commonly accessed Forms.

    Features (when finished):

    • Uses a single Form for all "navigation" that updates itself automatically as new Objects are added (no more making new buttons for each Form!).
    • Supports a "Quick Picks" menu that lists the most commonly used Forms/Reports/Queries. Initial version will require an .MDW file to support individual users but later versions will be able to recognize the user logged onto the local computer (when no .MDW is supplied).
    • Supports "grouping" of objects together to create a "nested" menu.
    • Supports an unlimited number of nesting levels.
    • Supports accessing Forms, Reports, Macros, Queries, web addresses, and outside programs directly from the switchboard.

Edit: I don't know exactly when it's going to be done because I'm working on it in my spare time, but I should have the first version out by the end of this week(ish).
