Error occured trying to imprt from excel

    Hello

I’m getting this error message "An error occurred trying to import file <FILENAME> The file was not imported (when i try to import to existing table). When I import the new data into a new table, it imports fine.
In the existing table column ICD94 Data Type is set up as Number, now when I import the new data into a new table the setting is as Text. I think the reason its doing this is because column in the new data are blank.
If so How can I going about fixing this????

    Thank you

Do you know about "import specifications"? You can set up an import specification where yo can define what each field data type is.

I think i found my answer. Access 2003 doesn't let you change data type. Populate
the first record in the spreadsheet with the proper data (could be a dummy
record - just hide the row), access will assign the correct data type to the
field when you run the import wizard. Than go back to the first record and delete it.

    Thank you
