    seasonal records

    Hello,
I have four excel files which contains the grades of students. Each file is for different semester
two are for the same season . The field names are different. Is there any way I can use access
to calculate the grade points and prepare a report based on the different seasons and semesters?
    Thank you

Assuming you want to do this in Access, I suggest you get the data from Excel to Access.
You need to focus on your database structure. With the proper structure and some programming, I think you can do what you want.
    Things that are key are:
    -Normalization http://www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/T...malization.zip
    -Entities and relationships http://www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/T...lationship.zip

Here are a number of free video tutorials related to database design concepts.

These free video tutorials describe the processes of data modelling, normalization and entity relationship diagramming. There are other videos, but this group is by the same presenter and covers an example situation.
