    Pubishing database on web

    Hi,

I finally got a working database and now I would like to see how it will function online. What is the best 'free' hosting for Access Databases (if this exists)? Or is there a way to create a link (maybe a URL) for people to link to a database on my personal computer or a shared drive at work? My database uses MS Scripting Runtime and FileSystemObject and I don't know if these make it incompatible with online databases. Any advice is highly welcomed.

    Thanks.

    AMAS

Do you really want internet accessibility or just multiple users logged into the local network?

    Google: Access database hosting

    Hi,

In actuality, I do want people to run a code from a webpage. The code manipulates a text file using the Microsoft Scripting Runtime and arrays and the final generated text file is saved by the user. Therefore there is no data stored in the database.

I did a google search and everything I was coming up with showed monthly hosting charges in the hundreds of dollars.

Check out IIS, Asp.net, Apache, Sharepoint.

Managing your own web server and dynamic web pages is not a simple job. Do you have IT professional support?

    Hi @June7,

The simple answer is no. My background is in Excel and Excel vba. More and more others have suggested I move towards using Access for my data management. I guess I will have to see my options and how much it will cost me to share my applications.
