    Input error on form

    Hi all

    I've receiving a weird error message when updating the value on a form.

    We have a customer form where an account manager is delected to add data to a record. The selection is made from a drop down list which is driven by a table.

    When selecting one specific name, which happens to be the first on the list, it comes up with;

    The field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add. Try inserting or pasting less data

    I subsequently deleted the entry in the table, then entered it in again and the error was resolved.

    Any ideas what has caused this error as I'm worried it will occur again.

    At a complete guess it sounds like your table field size might be too small to accept the name from the drop down list. However in case it is not that...

    Is the drop down attempting to store the whole name into the field, or does it reference a table for the data and attempt to store just an ID number?

    You said you deleted the entry, do you mean the record? of the field in the table?
