    Too many fields define

I am working with an Access 2010 database that I built. I made a copy of the database (because I was unable to save it under a different name to a different file) to a new file. Now when I go into the Main Table I'm unable to make any changes to the fields and/or to add fields. Each time I try I receive the error message Too Many Fields Defined (there are only 82). And I receive the same error if I simply attempt to make the field length longer. Why is this happening and how do I get it to stop and allow to make changes?

    Thank you.

This is not a split design? Have you tried to repeat the copy and same thing happens? Have you run Compact & Repair? Although copy should work, try importing everything to a new project instead.

Do you want to provide project(s) for analysis?

No, this is not a split design. Yes, I did try to copy and paste several times. On one occasion I was able to add fields, and so that is the copy I then continued to use, but now I'm no longer able to add fields and/or even modify a field in any way.

Yes, we ran a compact and repair.

Also, the original database allows me to add fields and/or modify them. Still.

I'm not certain what you mean do I want to create projects for analysis. Please clarify.

The other problem I've encountered is the save and publish feature. For instance I save as back-up - and define the folder where it is to be saved - then I'm unable it find it, anywhere, once it's saved. I've even saved it to my desktop and it's not there once the save is complete.

    Thank you.

I said 'provide'. You can attach to post. Make copy, remove confidential data, run Compact & Repair, zip if large. Attachment Manager is below the Advanced post editor. Provide the working version at least.
