A few questions from a beginner on a MS template

    Hello,
I'm currently trying to modify a Microsoft access template called "Project Tracking Databse"
I've been able to modify a few things already but have a few questions.
Apologies for these newbie questions and many thanks for your help
    Greg

How can I move the buttons? I can't only modify the width (ie. print button) but can't move the button around (I don't want them next to each other)

I see that the property "default picture" contains "attchment_smalls.png". Where is this picture 5and the other pictures) located?

For some reason I can't get rid of the horizontal navigation bar in this report (containing a sub form). Even by playing with the size of the fields & the form. What could be the issue?

The project appears to have been built with wizards. I don't use the wizards. They do things I don't like and make it harder to edit. Design wizards will group the controls. Select all the controls (left click over empty space and 'sweep' the mouse), right click > Layout > Remove. Now you should be able edit the controls individually to move and resize.

Don't know where the png files are saved. Try a file search. I did that on the file you named but with no result.

The subreport ScrollBars property is set to Neither? Don't know why the scroll bar won't go away. Never had this issue. Just have to keep playing with sizing. Try making the subreport container control wider, even wider than paper size just to see what happens.

Post project for analysis if still have issue.

    Further to June7 comments...

You will probably save time if you create new forms from scratch. Use the templates as a guide in setting properties. As June7 pointed out, the wizards and templates have too many things hidden away.

An arrow at left edge of table indicates a linked table. This means the project is 'split'. Data is in one file (backend) and queries, forms, reports, code are in another (frontend). An arrangement for multiple users.

I have never seen these little arrows at the bottom left corner of objects. This might explain them http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ac...spx?section=12
