this is not solved, please help
Go to File > Access Options > Client (it is Client something but can't remember right off hand) and then check for the option which says to open the last database when opening Access. Uncheck the box.

An Autoexec macro may be involved.
Try holding down the Shift key while you open the database,
nope, read the question again. When ACCESS is opened, not a particular database. I gave the answer on the other thread which was accidentally marked solved by either the OP or someone else.
Apparently the OP didn't give the correct applicable information.

I've done that and thought it should work but it is still opening the contacts list so I tried it again and same problem?
Holding down the shift key worked, it did just open my DB just as I would like it to do. Is there an answer to solving the problem beside holding down the shift key?
You can rename the 'AutoExec' Macro - if there is one.
When I have an AutoExec Macro that I don't want to run for a while I rename it something like AutoExec_Pause.
You didn't give the correct information when you first posted it would appear. You said it happened when you opened ACCESS, not when you opened your specific database. There is a MAJOR difference there.
So, check to see like hertfordkc said to see if you have a macro named AutoExec and that it is set to open that form. Otherwise go to the Access Options and to Current Database and see if there is a form listed in the startup form option. If so, remove it.
See the other thread (these should be merged) for my response.
