    Finished Database - Question

I am sure this is a silly question. I am a bit of a novice when it comes to Access. I have recently developed a simple database for doing conflict checks for a local law firm.

I want to be able to have the database loaded on the front desk computer where all new clients are entered into our system. I simply want the form to load without any access or view of the tables, sub-forms, etc. I just want the front desk attendant to be able to click on an icon, pull up the database and enter the client's information - all without viewing or potentially disturbing any of the structure of the database.

    How is this done?

    Thanks so much!

Read Access help on how you can securely package your database. Most of the tasks you want to accomplish can be done from the Access Options menu. This is at the bottom of the options that you see when you click the Office Button.

Yes, those are simple security measure that can be set with the Options dialog. File>Options>CurrentDatabase.

Be aware that holding down the shift key while project opens will override most of these settings.

Stronger security requires advanced coding and/or publishing the project as an executable (accde version).
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
