I created my database in 2010 but saved it in the 2007 format. When I email it, the recipient cannot open the file in 2007. It says, "Unrecognized database format".
I've attached the file (zipped). Any ideas what the problem could be?

2010 files are not always backward compatible to 2007, in spite of sharing the file extension suffix. This can be due to some features exclusive to 2010 used in the project or running Compact & Repair in 2010 can make it not compatible.

well, shoot. What do I do?
One way is, you can save the database as MDB (2003 format). Then, open the file in Access 2007 and convert it.
Read more about the compability issues between Access 2007 and 2010 here. There is also a section there that tell you how to remove those incompatible features, so that you can use it in Access 2007.
As a guide, it is safer to use Access 2007 for your development, since your users are using Access 2007.
What a pain, seriously. Thank you.![]()
