Creation of New Record when Tab Last Field

    Hi

I have a subform with a lot of fields in which require input. I have set the tab order correctly so they go through in sequence. However, I have found when I tab out of the last field. Its creates a new record which I dont want.

I want it to either return to the first field to just stop.

    Can anyone help?

I have never encountered this problem - though I can see where from a high-speed data-entry point of view it might be handy.

Is it possible that there is code in one of your Events for the last field [Changed, LostFocus . . .] that has an instruction to create a new record?

    Right-Click the last field
    Go to Properties
    Go to Events
Poke around in there for what it is that is creating the new record.

Let us know what you find.

Thanks for quick reply, its ok, I managd to solve it.

You go into the tab control properties and change the cycle from All Records to Current Record..Thus when you tab out of the last field it goes back to the first field. No additional record. Job done.

    Thanks
