    Command Button Border Transparency Issue!

    Here is my problem.

I have a Command Button on a form that I can't seem to make transparent when it is clicked. The border only appears when it is clicked.

I have attached a screen shot of the button properties and a shot of the issue. Any suggestions?

Seems you're using the Back Style property. Use the Transparent property instead. No caption? Place anothe disabled control behind the button with the desired caption.

I'll explain why Rod's suggestion would be the only way to get rid of that dotted box which appears when it has the focus.

That line/box is a WINDOWS item and not an Access item. Access has no direct control over that. It is the Windows standard for when a button has the focus. So, either you would have to find the option in Windows to keep that from happening and then set it (thereby ensuring for your users that the rest of their programs would not show it either) and I'm not sure you can set it, or you have to trick it like Rod is saying in order to not show the button even though it has the focus. So, the button would need to be set to Transparent, which allows its click even to occur still but it is completely invisible. You would need to have a label for the caption there so someone would know where to click.

I hope that makes sense and helps you understand why every setting you've tried in Access isn't doing it.

I started thinking the issue might be like that. Same reason that I would have to modify windows components for the desktop icon. Sometimes, it's a windows thing.

Place another disabled control behind the button with the desired caption.
Genius! That's what I'm talking about.

Seems like the smallest bugs aggravate me the most. Some people might not really even notice, but it drives me nuts.

Heading off to give it a try. Thanks for all the support
