    Access Report Design Requirement

    Hi Friends,

I Need a help regarding the design of report in Access 2007.
I need to make a report , with Specified ROWS & COLUMNS filling A4 size page , whether there is no data in all the fileds.
I need to print the report in that format because it is the approved format from my client.
I know if there is sufficient data is there to fill the page, the ROWS & COLUMNS will come. But if i have less datas only to print, i need the page filled with the rows and columns blank.
If it is possible to design the report like this Kindly advise me.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi welcome to the forum,
Why not to just print the data to the desire column on your client's original report? You need just to call the desire field on the specific row/column with not grid lines etc. Just fix the position of the controls on the specific location on the A4 size original client report.

For this you need to make a query with all the required fields based on your client report. Analyze it and get the desire result of your query.
Then make a copy of your client report on A4 size paper and then on the Page setup print option check mark Print Data Only, your data will be printed on the pre-design report on the selected fields positions.

Designing a report in Access is not just easy, it need some skills and time to design the desire reports, but the basic report contains on Report Heading, Detail and Report Footer.

In Report headers as its name shows you can print heading of the report. The detail part is used for detail and repeated data of columns and row. and lastly the footer is used for calculation, totals and grand totals etc.
You can have grouping of data also in the report. each group will have its own header and footer.

For ease you can start with report wizards to learn how they work and how the could be summarized?
