Guidance on AfterUpdate between fields in a subform

    Can someone assist with this:

Main form is a protocol table
There's a subform on the faculty member associated with that protocol
with a dropdown list of people. Person Id is part of the dropdown. List of people is derived from people table.

How does one have an after update event when, after the faculty member is selected, the faculty id is saved to the protocol table?

Why is there a subform? What table is it bound to? Why would value selected on subform need to be saved to main form dataset? This is very odd structure.

If you want to provide db for analysis, follow instructions at bottom of my post.

The main form is the protocol data and the subform is the faculty member's info

Sounds like form arrangement is backwards.
