    Howdy

Hi, I'm PeteW, just thought I'd introduce myself to the community. I'm new to Access from the standpoint of having recently completed both an Intro course and an Intermediate course offered by Ed2Go.com. I use Access 2003.

I have wanted to learn Access for many years, and tried unsuccessfully on my own. I finally found the time to get it done. That said, I have lots of newbie questions particularly when it comes to table layout and Database design. I'm not sure if it's just me, but this seems to be the toughest part to wrap my thick skull around. At least it is at this point in my learning curve; I'm sure I'll find plenty more ch work for a challenges. Because I'm recently retired I'm doing some volunteer work and have offered to design a database for couple of nonprofits in my area. I figured that would be a good way to develop and hone my skills.

Glad to have found your forum and I'm looking forward to learning and sharing.

Is the best place to ask questions about Table layout in the the Database Design section?

Most of the helpers see all of the new posts so help yourself. A good place to start a new db is from an existing Template. Several ship with Access and then the MS Office site has a ton more.
