How to secure the data of my Database

I just completed a database which I am planning to place it on a network drive. I would like only one or two people to access and add or change info. A few others would like and they should run reports but I do not want them to accidently change or add data. I could place a replica in the "my briefcase" but Microsoft XP does not support access2007. Any ideas on how to deal with this.

    Thank you

do a google search for "split" database. users can only access tables on a read-only basis
