When I compile the program the user name comes up as my name and it is highlighted. How do I change this to make it blank or default to something like "Your Name" or "new user".

what is a ''user name''?? the owner?? the signor?? if you compile a vba project, you shouldn't receive popups about users of the db, at least not conventionally.
what do you mean by 'compile'? the 'make mde' wizard?
