    discrepancy in data reported

    Greetings-
I Have a database i have designed for a craft show, which reports the items sold in a particular transaction. I have a table that collects order data, which pulls from a subform, allowing individual transactions to be tracked by 'vendor'.

I have two separate reports that i run to determine the sales for each individual vendor. however, when i run these reports, from the same query, i get different totals for the vendors.

The db is pretty big, so i can't post it here, but does anything stand out as a place i should start to look for the discrepancy?

To make matters worse, i am learning Filemaker Pro right now, so my terminology is all over the shop.....

    thanks.

I would think you have a parameter query that gets the values from a form. If the parameters haven't changed between the times you run the two reports, I would start by looking at the two reports in design view.

Do you have any calculated controls on the two report? Are the fields correct for the calculations?

If you have calculated fields (columns) in the query that are different for the two reports, do they have the the correct fields?

You could create a blank copy of the dB, enter some test data for one vendor, then, since you can manually calc the numbers, search thru the report controls to find where the error is.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
