Existing database files not opening in new version of MS Office

I recently had MS Office 2021 installed on my laptop to replace MS Office 2013. Now the database files I had previously created using MS Access (in Office 2013) will not open. They appear to be "trying" to open using Adobe Acrobat; they even show the the Adobe Acrobat logo indicating the file type of these files in the directory. I was planning to go back to the local tech outfit that installed Office 2021, but I thought I would try the Forum first, thinking this might be a quick/simple solution for someone with more knowledge than me. Thanks for any help/advice.

It is to do with file association.
Swap accdb/mdb and anything else back to Access.

I would probably stay away from that local tech outfit from now on as well.
