Convert old Access database to modern version

Hello. I have an old (presumable access 2.0 database) database. File extensions would be DDB. Microsoft Access 2007 should be able to open old access 2002 files, but it does not recognize DDB files. Old Access 2.0 knows this format, but I would like to refrain from using this version of Access because running it causes additional problems (virtualize old windows with floppy disk and some how writing a script to export data from multiple files). DDB likely is an Access file format because each .ddb -file has a matching .ldb -file.

Does anyone recognize the DDB file format? Which would be the best way to open this database and convert it to the more modern version of Access or export existing data?

Basic Access 2.0 should still be an mdb file. I can't find anything about Access ddb file. Are you able to view VBA code?

Seems to be an Altium or Protel 99 SE (or similar) application file.

You seem to be confusing your versions.
All files created in Access 2000 or later whether MDB or ACCDB can be opened in all subsequent versions of Access up to and including 365

IIRC, the last version of Access able to open Access 2.0 files was Access 97

I don't believe DDB has ever been used by Access though of course anyone can change the file extension...usually to mask what an app actually is.
Try renaming it to MDB and see if you can open it in Access

If not, it may be one of these file types DDB File Extension - What is a .ddb file and how do I open it? (fileinfo.com)

Or did you mean DBF? Many versions of Access can open DBF files

For info, A2.0 used Access Basic. VBA replaced that in Access 95

also found this link - read all the way down
    https://filext.com/file-extension/DDB

So might be worth right clicking and selecting access to open with

once opened, try saving as a mdb file. If that works, you should then be able to open the mdb in 2007 - and can then save that as .accdb
