    Compatibillity issue

    Hi

I created a database in the full version of Access 2016 and want to run it on another computer running Access 2016 Runtime, but upon opening a get the message that my database is created in a newer version of MS Access. Anybody tried that ?

I expect you included the bigint number datatype. Do you REALLY need it?
You will need to remove all traces of it
You will need to change that datatype to e.g. Long integer AND go to Access options then untick 'support for bigint'

    Save and compact.
If it still won't open in the runtime version, copy all items to a new database

Excellent. As you can guess, I'd done the same thing in the past.
    One further bit of advice.
Don't use the new modern charts in Access 365 or you will have an empty space where the charts should be if opened in 2016 run time or any earlier version.
