Turn of security warning in Access

Hi Guys,

i am using macro which is running when access is starting.

Problem is that i have to enable macres (security warning) to make my macros runnable.

I am using windows server 2012 R2 Standard.
So i have shared folder where i have Access FE linked to Postgresql BE.

User have to copy the Access FE to his local computer and run it.
And user have to enable security warnings - macro is not running properly on start up:



How did you solve this problem at your users?

the macros need enabled for each user ON THEIR PC:
File, options, trust center, trust center settings, macro settings, ENABLE ALL MACROS

But i do not want to do it manually.
I want to have code for this.

Can't be done by code, period. If it could be done by code there would be no security. Purpose is to prevent malicious code hacking system.

Sorry to disagree but it can be done.
The security warning occurs because neither the database not the location are trusted.
If you distribute your app using an installer package as an EXE file, the installation routine can add the registry settings needed to make this trusted.
This means the security banner will never be seen and macros/VBA code can run from the first time it is run.

As for macro settings in the trust centre, these are also stored in the registry so the above should still apply.
It's never been a problem in my experience (500+ workstations)

Obviously you should inform your clients that the installer will modify the registry and explain why.

I have done this for many years with all my distributed apps and it works perfectly.
I use Sam Logic Visual Installer but other installer packages are available such as Sage Pro or Inno (free)
