    Form dissappears on load

I made a program abour 4 years ago in MS 2007. I have been using it since with no issues. Just now it needs some updating in the values and so i was editing the form 'frmEditContracts', some of the formulas in the detail area. When i saved it and went through the switchboard to open the form it goes blank.

I tried editing the query, 'frmcontractsearch', and the form itself and i got it to open once correctly, so i closed Access and reopened and it didn't work again. I copied it to a different place, but same problem.

I'm not sure if it's a Windows problem or an access programming issue of mine.

Can someone take a look at the attached program and give me any ideas??

    Thanks!

I tried to attach the program but it's 1664kb so it's too big. I've attached screenshots of the different screens I see of what happens when I try to open the file, probably not very helpful

To reduce file size, Compact and Repair the file, then zip it

This usually means that the Folder the file resides in needs to be declared as 'Trusted.'

    To "Trust" your folder, click:

    • Office Button (top left)
    • Access Options (bottom of dialog)
    • Trust Center (left)
    • Trust Center Settings (button)
    • Trusted Locations (left)
    • Add new location (button)

Access will run code, when going from Design View to running it, in Form View, even with the Folder not 'trusted,' under the assumption that a developer, i.e. someone going from Design View to Form View, can be trusted, but will balk when opened directly in Form View, under the same conditions.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried the trusted location thing also but even before that, the whole program worked except for the 'Edit Contract' form. I've got the program zipped and attached for your viewing.

    Thanks again for your time.

Here you go (the edit form was saved with a filter).

    Cheers,

That totally fixes it. Thanks heaps!

It's really odd though, because I never even opened the property sheet when I was editing it, but obviously something I did, made the filter property change.... Seems like it did something on it's own, but I'm going to continue editing and see if that changes again. Doubt it though!!

    Thanks again.

Okay, so i did some more editing on the form. As soon as i changed a formula in the detail section the filter that we were having trouble with popped in there again. Same as before.

Does someone know if this is supposed to be this way? or is this an Access programming issue that needs to be elevated to MS support? Or is it because it was designed in Access 2007 and now we're on 2016? I can't imagine that should make a diff....

Anyhow, now I know what to look for!!
