This is my first time using the forum so I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this or not. I am fairly new to access and would appreciate some advice on the best way to go about the following:
I am creating a database that will deal with the production and sale of cookers. Cookers are made up of parts that we buy in or make. I will be recording the stock level of parts and need a way of selling a cooker and deducting the quantity of parts that make up that cooker from their stock levels. So for example if one cooker is made up of 2 sides, 2 burners and a door, I want to record selling say 8 cookers, and have the stock levels deduct 16 sides, 16 burners and 8 doors from their stock levels. I have created the relevant tables and forms so that I can enter cooker details and what a cooker is made up of but I'm unsure of how to deal with the mathematical side of selling and deducting numbers.
I am still in the early stages of creating this database but as this is a key part of what I'm hoping to achieve, I would like to get this sorted before going much further. Hopefully you have enough information to go off.
