Best way of doing this...?

This is my first time using the forum so I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this or not. I am fairly new to access and would appreciate some advice on the best way to go about the following:

I am creating a database that will deal with the production and sale of cookers. Cookers are made up of parts that we buy in or make. I will be recording the stock level of parts and need a way of selling a cooker and deducting the quantity of parts that make up that cooker from their stock levels. So for example if one cooker is made up of 2 sides, 2 burners and a door, I want to record selling say 8 cookers, and have the stock levels deduct 16 sides, 16 burners and 8 doors from their stock levels. I have created the relevant tables and forms so that I can enter cooker details and what a cooker is made up of but I'm unsure of how to deal with the mathematical side of selling and deducting numbers.

I am still in the early stages of creating this database but as this is a key part of what I'm hoping to achieve, I would like to get this sorted before going much further. Hopefully you have enough information to go off.

Here is a free youtube video regarding the creation of a stock management database.
I recommend you watch it to see how this was done. Your situation may be different, but you may get some ideas that you can use.
You should also be aware that Stock control/inventory management is not a trivial subject.
Knowing your business processes and business rules and documenting these may be helpful to your project.
I recommend you create a data model and some test data to exercise/test your model. It is much easier to make changes on paper than to reorganize and rebuild a physical database.
There are many posts and articles accessible through Google that can help get your thoughts organized and tested.
After watching the video and researching database design and development, you could ask more focused questions to the forum.
