    access newbie wanting more information

Hello, I have never used access and am wanting to put a worksheet together to track inbound containers to our facility. We use Excel in a shared environment currently and it is just a disaster of a worksheet. Would Access work Better? can Access work in a shared worksheet? We get anywhere from 50-70 inbound containers a week to our facility, all with different numbers. and the current sheet is used to track status such as - Available, not available, delivered, on exam, Empty, Complete, Plus a lot of other columns of information. Carrier, Vessel, etc. Any help or information if access would be a good route to go would be a huge help. Thank you in Advance.

Yes, Access can have multiple simultaneous users. Yes, Access is appropriate tool for storing, retrieving, manipulating data.

Suggest you spend a week with an introductory tutorial book to learn basics of relational database principles, Access functionality, and programming concepts.

Forget everything you understand about worksheets when learning/working with Access. Access does not have worksheets, it has tables.

I would prefer a real book in my hands. I never completed an on-line tutorial. I use internet for researching specific issue.

    Lynda.com is good but costly.
