    Link specification does not exist

Hi All, apologies for basic access questions ahead!

question 1: I imported txt files into access and am trying to fetch data into excel using "Microsoft Query". all steps go through just fine excelpt when the data is going to be displayed in the excel as final step, i keep getting the error "The text file specification <filename> does not exist. You cannot import, export or link using the specification". I followed the steps explained here, and now i get the same error but right when I choose the tables to add to query.

question 2: Can I not use "case when" in the microsoft query when importing from access? i keep getting an error "cannot find the table"

    thank you!

Q1. the link you provided is for importing to access, not excel, so not sure what you are doing

Q2. Access sql does not use case when, instead it has the switch function - https://support.office.com/en-us/art...ad=US&fromAR=1
