    Bar Code / Membership #

We have a club with < 1000 members.

We have to Log In ever visit. So instead of the member typing in their Membership Number we want to stick a Bar Code label to the back of his card.

So the BC does Not have to replicate his M# we'll pre-print out volumes of labels and tie the 2 numbers on first up.

So can anyone give me some direction on how to do this simply? Thanks

your approach depends on the bar code scanner you bought, they all have their own drivers etc (last time I did anything with bar codes was ages ago so there may be some on-board bar coding drivers now, I just don't know) and transmitting the data from the scanner to your database could be incredibly simple to handle. The stream is usually just a pure text output which lends itself to easy manipulation.
