Exclamation Vertical Text Down Right Hand Side of report

    In Access 2013.

I am trying to create a "catalog" report. 2 columns and 6 rows to display a picture of my products and a short description. I got that working.

    Now, the tough part...

I would like to create a long Vertical text box all along the right hand edge of the page so the reader can quickly flip to section they want (light bulbs, cleaners, equipment).

I tried using a report with a sub-report, but I can't get it to work. The report keeps repeating the Category text for each row.

    Any thoughts/help.

    Thanks,

    Ira

Thats EXACTLY how to do it, each row would have the CATA field, and the report would sort 1st on Cata.
Put the field on the outer border and set it to vertical. (put field in the header, not the detail band)
(unfortunately, it only rotates 1 way and not the other. Thanks microsoft)

But, then the vertical category field REPEATS for each row. I want one long field the spans the whole height of the page (11")

Not sure what you mean by 'quickly flip to section' - how can this be done on report?

If you want to provide db for analysis, follow instructions at bottom of my post.

I am printing the report and producing catalogs. I was just trying to explain that I want the right edge to have the Category name, so the reader can flip through the printed catalog more quickly.

I am not sure what you want can be done in Access, at least not easily. Might have to export data to Word and that's another can of worms.

Again, if you want to provide db ...
