URL will not open pdf text search in IE

I am trying to add a URL that automatically does a text search in a pdf document.

If I paste this directly into IE:
    C:\TAM\CITES Appendix list.pdf#search="naja"
    it works correctly.

The #search="naja" only appears to work in IE and not other browsers or when opening the pdf directly.

I have tried this in an Access URL:
    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" C:\TAM\CITES Appendix list.pdf#search="naja"

without any success. When you hover over the link Access appears to translate the "#" into " - " which may be the problem.

Any ideas how this can be done either using IE or opening it directly in Adobe Reader 9 from an Access URL

    Many thanks in advance
