Combo box changes color after entering record

    Hell Access users and experts!

Hope you are doing well.I have created a form in access and there are two comboxes therein. when I enter the record in the comboxes and tab to next field ,my comboxes changes their colors to what I have selected for my form itself, which looks odd at the time of data entry. I don't know why it is happening.Any suggestions?

    Best Regards

set your BACKCOLOR property. (it shows 1 color until you enter the field, then it can change)
set it to white. (or the color you need)

Are you actually running Access 2002, as your profile shows? I ask because this was a bug first reported with Access 2007!

I have Access 2000,2003,2007,2010,2013. All Access versions show the same.

I assume, then, that the problem was around prior to 2007, but never noticed in any big way. Allen Browne first posted the problem in his article on 2007 bugs, which states:

"A combo may display as transparent when focus leaves it. Workaround: set the AlternateBackColor property of the the (Detail?) Section to something other than "No Color", e.g. #80000027."

Then definitive answer is to install the Hotfix that you can download here:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/974995

There may be Hotfixes for subsequent versions (Microsoft isn't known for actually fixing a known problem before distributing a new version) but I assume that Allen's suggested fix, which is essentially the same as ranman256's, will work with these versions!
