    Sending reports


    I have created a button on one of my forms to send a report to an email recipient. It has worked quite well in the past but something has changed and it wont work anymore. There is an attachment of a screenshot of the error. Im running access 2003 and xp-pro

    sending email cont.

    Well a month ago this all worked fine and this function just stopped working. Im not sure what to check. I did find some googled info that said this may be due to a windows security update that see's the email from access as a threat. I dont know how to check that either.

    I don't think that's your problem. What they're talking about there is mailing an entire database (.mdb file) to someone else. In that situation, Outlook will block the attachment since the VBA code an an Access Project can be written to function as a virus.

    My guess is that it's a configuration error on the Workstation. Check that your E-mail Client is set up to be the default program and has all the proper associations (including the "mailto:" link functionality). Try running the report with the E-mail client already open in the background.

    If that doesn't work, I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling your E-mail Client.
