    Questions on SubForm

In the Ceil Inn MS Access tutorial what is the

    Text9 =sum([RATEAPPLIED]) =sum([PhoneCharge])

This is still on the subform Room Occupancy Summary. I think that I may already have them on my form, but again exactly what are they?

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Also how to get rid of excess space at the bottom of the subform?

If that really is the full expression in Text9, should return a True or False if the Sum() calcs are equal. But why would there be a reason to compare RateApplied with PhoneCharge?

Eliminate excess space by resizing form sections or the subform container control.

Here a better lok at the form and subform

The Ceil Inn MS Access tutorial can be found here.

    http://www.functionx.com/access/appl...ns/ceilinn.htm

Now I will attach a picture of the form and subform that I am talking about.

The three items that I am talking about shown in the subform of this picture.

    Again what are Text9, =sum[(RATEAPPLIED)], =Sum([PhoneCharge)].

They are spaced out on the gif picture correctly. I could not
get them properly spaced when I just used cut and paste.

    Again, what are they?

    Thanks in advance.

Text9 is a label control. Change "Text9" to be whatever caption you want.

The other two are textboxes with calculations that total the values of the referenced fields for all records of the subform RecordSource.

    I don't understand spacing issue.

After moving things around on my form. I have found that there is a large amount of space
in the middle and I would like it removed-if possible. That to me is not as easy as it sounds
since to remove space various text boxes and labels must be moved singly around. That would
easily mess up the arrangement that I took quite a lot of time to create.

I there a way to just remove the space and leave everything as it is with the exception of
    the space is now gone?

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I don't understand. The design view does not show 'empty' space. The subform container occupies space on main form even if the subform has no records. The subform container can be resized to occupy less space. The subform vertical scroll bar will activate if number of records exceeds the container height.
