    File Attachment Field

Hi All, I am new to this forum and trying to self teach Access. I am trying to add an attachment field to a form in Access 2013. However when I add the field to the required form I cannot attach a file, I click in the box and there is no paperclip icon etc. to attach file. I can do it in the datasheet view by double clicking the field in the backend database. Anybody have any ideas? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I assume that when you say "I can do it in the datasheet view by double clicking the field in the backend database" you mean that you can do it when you are working directly with the Table. That being the case, one would have to wonder if your Form, for any reason, is actually Read-Only. Can you add a New Record or edit an existing Record in your Form? Or perhaps that particular Control isn't editable: in Properties - Data for the Attachment Control, is Enabled set to Yes and Locked set to No?

Linq, Really appreciate your reply, however I have tried all of the above and I am still having no joy, tried a new form etc. Its definitely not a read only either.
