date parameters export in crosstab queries

I have a crosstab queries and a form that with a click of a button will export to excel. However, the date parameters is not working. I would like users to be able to choose the date and export those data only. Any suggestions how I can go about doing this?

Yes, that's what I tried (Parameter, Data Type) and it is not working . What did I do wrong here?
