    ODBC Connection

I am on Windows 7 64 bit. . I can use ODBC with the ODBCTest utility and SQL Developer to get to my database but not Access. I have installed both 64 bit and 32 bit MSAccess and Oracle ODBC drivers to test and consistently get the TNS could not resolve error.
Can anyone here tell me where MSAccess looks to find the ODBCAD32.exe it uses to locate the drivers? Or perhaps a pointer to help me debug this?

Thank you very much for any help.

    Deb.

Don't really understand what you are doing. What does TNS stand for?

The only way I have Access connect to SQL or Oracle db is by setting up ODBC connection with Data Sources (ODBC) under Windows Administrative Tools. Then set links in Access to the SQL or Oracle tables.

That is what I am trying to do as well...the database is in the cloud and the pointer to it is kept by an oracle file name TNSNames.ora. The DNS created with the ODBC Administrator points to it via the Oracle ODBC driver installed, usually in system32 or syswow. Then the DNS referenced in MSAccess points to that. All that works up to the point I bring up MSAccess, it is not looking in the same place to locate the Oracle ODBC driver, thus I cannot correctly create a DNS.
I figure I have messed something up switching backing and forth somewhere along the line and am just hoping for any ideas here before I re-image the machine and start over.
    Hope this makes more sense.

    Thanks,

Sorry, never worked with data in 'the cloud'.
