    Data type "memo" not available

I have a database which was created as an Access mdb file. We recently attempted to upgrade to Access 2013 and encountered a multitude of problems - autonumber fields which were primary keys got changed to number fields, etc. We have resolved most problems and fixed the primary keys and relationships that got messed up. There is one thing I can't seem to figure out. The "old" database had a memo field. When we did the upgrade, it changed to a "short text" field with 255 characters. When I go into design view on the table, "memo" is not an available data type - only "short text" and "long text." Is "long text" the new name for "memo?"

    As I understand it, yes.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
