Toolbar Buttons not working / inactive

Does anyone know why some of the buttons on my toolbar are going in active? I am unable to click on a lot of my buttons such as undo and font color just to name a couple. These are buttons I would like to use when I am in design view for my forms but for some reason they are grayed out and unavailable to click on. Why is this happening? I am using Windows 8 with Microsoft Office 2013.

I noticed if I change the option of having the quick access toolbar show above the ribbon option it will reactivate the font color button along with the background color button temporarily. I have a welcome splash screen which hides the toolbar in the beginning of the database but then I use another form to unhide the toolbar if I have to go into design view and I need those extra tools in the toolbar ribbon. Anyway, its almost as if the toolbar needs to be refreshed in order for these buttons t reactivate. I do not have this problem on other computers at work, just my laptop at home. The computers at work run Win 7 with either MS Office 2010 or 2013 so I don't think this problem is particular to 2013.

Ok so I guess no one has had the problems listed above but I would like to add to this. I notice that when I go into my backend table file, I double click the table I want to view and I also notice that it does not load the amount of records in the table in the navigation buttons area. This is where you usually see "1 of 2000" records for example. It does this at my work computer with no problems but on my laptop it does not. The way I have to get the total number of records to show is by clicking the last record button in the navigation buttons then it will take me to the last record and show me the last number of records. It seems my laptop has problems with Access. I cannot use the undo button along with some other features on the toolbar/ribbon and now I found this problem to add to the list. Does anyone know whats going on? Is the database corrupt?

If the same db file works on office computer but has issues on laptap, suspect the Access install on laptop. Do other db have the issue?
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

I really don't understand this intermittent problem. I just tested all my databases and the toolbar undo button seems to be working on all of them now. It must be when I been working on it for a while and then I must do something to trigger this glitch. I'll keep an eye out if it happens again. I'll report back if I find any new info. Thanks.

I would suspect it is a memory (RAM) thing. If your Main Menu form is unbound, bind it to a small table on the BE. Maybe have it use a query object with a WHERE clause to retrieve one record and one field. Your Main Menu form should always remain open when the app is open.

Yeah I think the RAM thing would make sense since my laptop doesn't have much juice in that department. Plus it also doesn't have much processing power. Oh well. Thanks for the help guys.
