Adding SubTabs in a Tab control?

I have a Tab control on a form that has 3 tabs. Question is: Is there a way to have subtabs under only one of the tabs, not all 3 tabs? I've tried adding another Tab control to one tab but that adds it to all the other tabs. I just want sub tabs for one of the tabs. I’ve found this thread, but is this the only way? Or is there a simpler way?

A tab control cannot sit directly on another tab control.

However, a navigation control can sit on a tab control.

    I've never used navigation control/form - don't like.

June7 thank you for your reply.
    I understand:
A tab control cannot sit directly on another tab control.
But I'm not sure I understand what you mean by:
However, a navigation control can sit on a tab control.

    I've never used navigation control/form - don't like.

If you are not familiar with navigation control/form, suggest you explore and see what you think of.

I just tested placing a navigation control on page of a tab control and it worked. Didn't go any farther.

Would you mind explaining what you did to get subtabs? What I tried was: I was in the tab I would like the subtabs and I clicked to add a Navigation form but that just created a new Navigation form with tabs.

I clicked navigation control from the Controls group on Design tab.

The way I've seen this done is to place a Subform on a page of the first Tabbed Control then a second Tabbed Control on the Subform. Kind of clunky, but I guess it depends on your needs. I'd trim the Form the Subform is based on down to the bare minimum, doing away with the Control Box, Record Selector and using a minimal Border Style.

Missinglinq thank you for your input.
I think I'm on the same page. I created a form with a tab control and added that as a subform to one of the tabs. It does look a bit clunky as you said, but does the job.

I was not able to get the navigation form to add subtabs. I need to experiment more with it.
Thank you for all your time on this.

The tab control would be the first level tabs.

The navigation control on tab control would be the second level tabs. (something I've never used so the feasibility is conjecture)

Third level brings us back to the same conundrum, tab control (or navigation control) cannot have the same type control placed directly on it.
