    Reports that are invisible

I'm having a problem right now. My report has always worked until recently. What happened was I deleted a column in a report in design view because I didn't need this column. So now when I open the report all of it is blank unless I manually click around on the report and where ever I click with the mouse cursor is where it begins to come out from hiding. Has anyone had this problem before? This all happens in 2010 Office and whats weird is if I open this in 2013 Office, the report opens up fine. I'm thinking its a glitch of some kind.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Opening the same file with different versions of Access can have adverse effects on said file.

are you using print preview? My guess is that you are opening the report in 'layout' or 'report view'. That is tremendously buggy since 2007 (at least for me), if you open the report in print preview you should see everything fine.

Yeah print preview is ok. I actually have one button to do regular report view and the other button is to open it in print preview. I just need to fix the report view. Any suggestions? It opens great on 2013 Office. Just having problems in 2010 Office. Weird. I was even thinking that maybe if I made changes in 2013 that would fix the problem but it didn't. Maybe I have to recreate the report from scratch in 2013 then it will fix it. Maybe 2010 is what made it buggy.

I only use print preview so I haven't looked for a reason why this occurs how how to get it to stop doing it.

here's one thread suggesting a partial fix by bringing items to the front (if items are behind a label for instance they will be invisible

this thread mentions that 2010 is problematic in report view as well, so best to stay away from it if you can.

Still didn't work. I am now testing to see if creating the report from scratch in 2013 will solve the issue. I created these reports in 2007. Then when viewing 2010 it runs into this problem of being invisible. 2013 runs fine. So seems like a 2010 bug. Anyway, I'll come back and post what I find out. Thanks.

Still not working. I am wondering if some of the buttons that I created in other versions of Office is the culprit. I started the database in 2007 so some forms have buttons or features from that version of Office and when I create new forms or reports, I tend to copy and paste things from other forms. Anyway, I am still trying to figure this out so if anyone out there has a solution please share. Thanks.

I mentioned in post #3 this is a 'known' issue with report view. you may be able to do something like cycle through each control on your report in the ON OPEN event to see if that forces a refresh, but I have not tried that. I do not use report view or layout view at all because of this issue.

I found one solution. When I took out the maximize command in my vba on the "On Open" event of the report, it now shows all its contents. So you can try this and let me know if it works. Thanks.
