Question My db opens with a request to enter the first and last dates to view ??????

i have a database that has a navigation form set as the start up screen. (Navigationform)

In that form other subforms are displayed. All works fine to navigate through all the forms and reports and each form or report behaves correctly.
However on the report form there are several sub forms created to view data. I created a query which uses the start and end function to set a date range for the query. This query is then displayed as a datasheet in a subform on the reports page. The resulting data is being displayed on the subform correctly, the date i have set in the query works fine. However now when I open the database it starts at the navigation form which is correct but i am asked to enter the first and last dates before i can view the navigation form. NOT what I want!
In an earlier version that i made before i added the start and end query to the subform the database opens correctly without asking for the start and end times.
I am new to this and i cant understand why this query is being applied to the navigation form. This is the only time I am asked for it.

    TIA

I am confused. You say "I added the start and end query" then you are baffled by why the query is applied to the navigation form. I don't use navigation form/control design because I find it more confusing and more difficult to work with.

Does the query have dynamic parameters? Where was the query added within the navigation form structure?

Can't go back to earlier verion of db or import the working objects?

Sorry didn't explain that too well. I created a parameter query to show the client details within a specific date range from start and end dates that the user entered. I then created a form from this table and saved it as "Select Service Renewal Letters." All good. Query

I have created a main form called Navigation, this contains a navigation bar and i placed a sub form under each tab showing the forms for each table i created. One of these sub forms has another navigation bar. when clicked it displays all the report functions one of which is to call the form select service renewal letters. Before i created this form and placed it on the sub form the database opened correctly at the navigation screen which was expected. Now however when i open the database it calls the parameter query i just created. If you just click through without entering any dates the programme opens correctly and functions OK. I can't understand why the parameter query opens.

If "Select Service Renewal Letters" form is based on a parameter query and that form is opened when the db opens, then it will demand the inputs.

I don't use dynamic parametrized queries.

Of course it does, Derr, Thank you for that, I am actually going to use that data for a mail merge and create a table based on my query. So If i open the query in a new window, that should isolate it form the rest of the form.? I have only just started using forms to build a database navigation so it is all new.

Create a table based on query - why?

Why do you need to open a query object?
