I recently had to install Office 2013 on my office PC because the computer lab where I teach no longer has Office 2010 installed. I have both 2010 and 2013 installed on my own machine now, but only 2013 in the lab.
Access 2013 displays catatonic behavior on my PC. If often takes 3-5 minutes to complete simple operations like resizing a text box on a form, switching from design to form view, or querying a table with less than a dozen records. It never crashes, but it's incredibly slow for no apparent reason.
If I switch back to Access 2010, all these issues immediately resolve themselves. The problems happen on old databases, databases freshly created by Access 2013, databases on network drives, and databases on local drives.
Access 2013 is nearly unusable in this state. Will uninstalling Office 2013 help? I must say I prefer the look of 2010 and haven't found any improved functionality in 2013, so I'm reluctant to do that.
I haven't found any mention of similar problems online, and our local IT support group has no answers.
