How to Search a Text Field in Access

I'm importing a spreadsheet into Access that contains a field called customer. This customer field contains the customer's First & Last name. I need the ability to search the entire customer field in access, since it will take too much time to separate the Customer field in excel every month before importing the data.

your question is not clear; but I will make a guess - - - if your text is:
    SmithJim

and you want to find Smith

then enter "Smith*" as the criteria in a query of this table

    it will return
    SmithTom
    SmithJim

enter "SmithJim" and that is what it will return... in DBs we query - we don't search..
